Vancouver Police nab four suspects in Langley in gun investigation

Some people in North Langley thought they heard gunshots but it was a police percussion device.

Vancouver Police did a high-risk vehicle stop in North Langley on Monday evening just before 11 p.m., arresting four men and recovering two firearms.

“The VPD recently received a tip about a firearm related offence. Officers located the suspects near 94 B Avenue and 204 Street,” said VPD Sgt. Jason Robillard.

The takedown involved the VPD emergency response team, which includes a dog unit, and caught the attention of the neighbourhood.

“Officers used loud distraction devices during the arrest, which had mistakenly been reported as gunshots,” he explained.

One of the men taken into custody was treated for a dog bite, but there were no other injuries.

“There was minor vehicle damage sustained during the arrest,” Robillard added.

The four men remain in custody, and the investigation continues, he said.
