Sometime between 12 and 1 a.m. on Friday morning, a number of buildings in the downtown area were vandalized.

RCMP reported seven windows at the David Hoy Elementary School were damaged and two at a residence on Fourth Avenue East.

Seven windows at the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) on the Goodwin Building were damaged on the night of August 8.

Three of the windows at MCFD were broken through, the rest just chipped.

The manager of the building for Columbine Investments, Lionel Conant, said no estimate had yet been done for the costs of replacing the windows, and he believed it appeared an instrument had been used, not rocks, from the damage.

The alarm at Nezul Be Hunuyeh was also set off, but no damage had yet been reported as of press time.

The RCMP are investigating the incidents and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Fort St. James RCMP at 250-996-8269 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-663-TIPS.
