Church window broken, 2 bottles of wine stolen and consumed on site

Over the course of the week of May 4 – 11, the Vanderhoof RCMP worked on 81 files and held 12 prisoners.

 

Church Break and Enter — May 6, 10:30 a.m. a break and enter was reported that the Anglican church, 2556 Burrard, Anglican church. A rock was thrown through the back window. Two bottles of wine taken and two empty bottles were found lying on the ground outside. The bottles were sent to RCMP Forensics for identification process. Excessive Speeder — on May 8, 2:35pm a Vanderhoof Traffic Services member detected a vehicle travelling at 148 km in a 100 km zone on Highway 16. As a result of this the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The driver was found to not have a valid driver’s licence. Violation tickets were issued.

 

Museum Break and Enter — 6 May, 9:24 a.m. the call came in about a break and enter at Vanderhoof museum – a window of the Reimer House was broken. This is the fifth of a series of vandalism, breaking window panes on the museum site often means damage to antique, irreplaceable hand-made glass, precious to the museum. Senseless breaking of these precious window panes means replacement with regular glass of no historic value.

 

Person of Interest Located — May 10, 12:30 a.m. a Vanderhoof RCMP officer located a female of interest with outstanding warrants for arrest. In the process of the arrest she provided a false name, so along with the four outstanding warrants she received three additional charges for obstructing police and failing to comply with release conditions.
