Files reported to the Vanderhoof RCMP between September 2 – 9, 2011.
On September 5 at 5:46 p.m., a complaint of a man sexually assaulting a woman was reported to the Vanderhoof RCMP. The man was located and arrested. He will appear in court on December 12 in Vanderhoof.
On September 5 at approximately midnight an assault causing bodily harm was reported to have occurred at the Grand Trunk Inn. The RCMP attended but the accused has not yet been located.
Over the weekend of September 3, a safe was reported to have been stolen from Valley Diesel on Highway 16. A quantity of cash was inside the safe. There were no signs of a forced break and enter into the property.
On September 7 at 9:30 p.m., RCMP received a report of a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 16 and Meier Road. Upon arriving at the scene, the RCMP entered into an impaired driving investigation.
The male driver of the vehicle, who was in his 40s, was found to be intoxicated and breath samples showed that he was three times over the legal limit. The man was not a local. He has been given a court date for January 16.
On September 7 at 3:15 p.m., the Vanderhoof RCMP received a complaint of a female walking into traffic on Highway 16.
Vehicles were having to swerve to prevent from hitting the woman.
The RCMP located her and she was arrested for being intoxicated in public.
She was also found to be in breach of probation and was released the next day with a court date.
