From Thursday, Sept. 9 to Wednesday, Sept. 22, Vanderhoof RCMP responded to 155 calls for service and arrested and held nine people.
Here are some files received by police during that period:
Walking With a Bow
Vanderhoof members responded to a male walking down the street in a residential area of Vanderhoof with a compound bow in hand. Members had conducted extensive patrols but were unable to locate the man.
“Police are reminding the public to ensure that you transport your weapons, guns or bows, safely and legally,” RCMP said.

Warrant for Arrest
Vanderhoof RCMP received a request from another detachment to locate an individual on an arrest warrant for operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs. The wanted person was located in another jurisdiction.
Traffic Complaints
Vanderhoof RCMP received 19 calls for service related to drivers’ habits, including speed, erratic drivers and unlicensed drivers. The calls came in from across the detachment’s service area, including Saik’uz, Vanderhoof, Highway 16 and Regional District Area F. In each instance, officers had worked to locate the suspect vehicle.
“Police request as much detail as possible when reporting vehicle offences but ensure you stay safe,” RCMP said.
September is Distracted Driving Month, and police continue to target drivers using electronic devices while driving. Each ticket for distracted driving includes a fine of $368 and four driver penalty points to your driving record.
