The driver of an SUV and pedestrians avoided injury when the vehicle crashed into the front entrance of the Lantzville Market in Lantzville Friday.
Firefighters and an ambulance crew responded to the scene when the crash occurred at about 10 a.m.
The elderly woman driving the vehicle was shaken, but not injured. She was checked over at the scene by an ambulance crew and turned over to the care of relatives.
The vehicle, the store’s front wall and stair railings along with a newspaper box all suffered damage.
Investigators are determining why the woman lost control of her vehicle.
