A single vehicle ended up on its roof after leaving the roadway and landing on the beach Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred around 6:43 p.m. near the intersection of Hilchey Rd. and S. Island Highway.
RCMP officers determined that the vehicle, a Toyota FJ Cruiser, was traveling south on the highway when the driver lost control and veered left. The vehicle went over the curb and crashed through bushes before reaching the beach. It then landed on several logs which caused it to overturn. The 53-year-old male Campbell River driver was transported to hospital via ambulance with unconfirmed injuries.
No names have been released and the incident is under investigation.
