Vernon firefighters were kept hopping over the weekend.
The department responded to two blazes, with one of them considered suspicious.
“We haven’t had a weekend like that for awhile,” said Lawrie Skolrood, deputy fire chief.
On Saturday, firefighters were called to an industrial lot on Kalamalka Lake Road just after 3 p.m.
The fire started when a man dismantling a motor home cut into a propane line.
“The sparks from the saw ignited the propane,” said Skolrood.
“They (firefighters) pretty much stopped it where it was.”
The man sustained some facial burns but was treated at the scene.
And then on Sunday, firefighters were called to the 2300 block of 32nd Street at 6:51 a.m.
The home was vacant and the fire didn’t generate much damage.
“It’s suspicious,” said Skolrood, adding that he is working with RCMP on the case.
