Vernon politicians have been handed their assignments for 2017.
On Monday, council ratified the committee appointments for the coming year.
Among the appointments is Mayor Akbal Mund and Councillors Juliette Cunningham to the Greater Vernon Advisory Committee and Mund, Cunningham and Councillors Catherine Lord and Brian Quiring to the Regional District of North Okanagan.
Coun. Scott Anderson is the appointee to the Canada Day committee.
City earns financial honours
The City of Vernon has received the Canadian Award for Financial Planning for the seventh year in a row.
Kevin Bertles, director of financial services, also received the financial reporting achievement certificate for his role as the individual designated by the city as being primarily responsible for the Canadian Award for Financial Reporting.
