Vernon hit-and-run truck and driver sought

It’s big, light-coloured and likely with some front-end damage.

And Vernon RCMP would like to find it and its driver.

Police responded Saturday, at approximately 10 p.m., to a hit-and-run complaint in the 3400 block of Okanagan Avenue.

“Witnesses described a grey or silver 2008-to-2012 model GMC Sierra with an eight-to-10-inch lift kit and a thin, LED lilght bar above the windshield,” said RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

The vehicle allegedly struck a parked 2008 Chevrolet Silverado, pushing it against a garage door and causing damage to the house and the front end of the truck.

The Sierra then collided with a short cement wall, gardens and hedges before fleeing westbound on Okanagan Ave.

“The suspect truck would have damage to the front end of the vehicle,” said Noseworthy.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
