Vernon RCMP are looking for a man who robbed a convenience store early Sunday morning.
Police were called to Mac’s Convenience Store on 27th Street at 4:30 a.m.
“An unknown man in a ski mask entered the store and threatened the clerk with what appeared to be a can of bear spray,” said Vernon RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.
The suspect left the store on foot and with an undisclosed amount of money.
No one was injured during this incident, and Noseworthy said the clerk did the right thing by complying with the robber.
“That money or whatever the person is after is not worth your life,” she said. “Just because they’re showing you something doesn’t mean they don’t have something else in their pockets or won’t cause you harm. At the end of the day, it’s just property. It’s not worth you.”
Anybody with any information on the crime is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
