There’s a Vernon connection to a drug case in the Central Okanagan.

RCMP officers searched a home on Upper Mission Drive in Kelowna Saturday and more than 5,500 marijuana plants were located in the basement.

A 36-year-old Vernon man and a 32-year-old Kelowna man were arrested at the residence.

Both men, as well as a 24-year-old Merritt woman, are all facing multiple potential charges of theft of hydro, production of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The men were released on a promise to appear in court in May and a warrant is being requested for the arrest of the woman.
