Members of the Barriere Legion Branch 242 recently announced that the Legion is pleased to offer a new membership growth initiative, providing incentive for serving and-retired members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) who have not yet joined the Legion.

“This is an opportunity to get to know the Legion, become part of what we do to support veterans, and to add a voice to our advocacy efforts and the future of the Legion,” states a report from BC Yukon Command, “There has been huge interest in the new program. The end of December 2018, 57,000 emails went out to the military organizations, RCMP and CAF members, and as of the end of that week some 300 plus new members have joined from coast to coast.”

The new Veteran Program offers a free one-year Legion membership, a subscription to Legion Magazine, and access to member benefit programs.

If you are eligible for this program you can apply through Dominion Command’s Veteran Welcome Program at: http://legion.ca/ welcome. Then take your membership card to any Legion Branch to request a transfer to that Branch. You can also mail your application to: member Services, Royal Canadian Dominion Command, 86 Aird Place, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, K2L 0A1, or fax to: 613-591-9335, or email: membership@ legion.ca
