The B.C. Coroners Service has released the identify of the 17-year-old who died following a longboarding accident in Vernon Sunday evening.
Christopher Mathew Mitchell, of Vernon, was longboarding northbound on 39th Street in Vernon at about 11 p.m. when he was in a collision with an eastbound minivan at Okanagan Avenue.
Mitchell was transported by ambulance to Vernon Jubilee Hospital, but he could not be resuscitated.
The RCMP and Coroners Service continue to investigate the death.
