After reviewing more than 70 candidates from across Canada, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce has selected a new CEO.
Catherine Holt will take over the reigns from Bruce Carter, who will be leaving the position next month.
Holt has a diverse background spanning more than three decades and recently worked as the strategic business advisor to the CEO of Translink.
In addition, she has worked at the executive level and with private sector clients, such as Spectra Energy, IBM and SNC-Lavalin, providing strategic advice on public policy and government decision-making processes that affect their interests. She’s also done extensive work with B.C. Transit, B.C. Assessment Authority and other public entities and First Nations organizations.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know the members of the chamber and providing them with great service,” said Holt. “Member involvement is essential and it alllows the chamber to do its part to make Victoria a great place to live and do business.
The chamber has more than 1,400 members representng private, non-profit and public organizations throughout Greater Victoria.
