The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died following a fall on Sky Pilot Mountain near Squamish.
He is Michael Taylor, 29, of Victoria.
On Sept. 13, Taylor and a friend travelled to Sky Pilot Mountain with the aim of reaching the summit of the 2,025-metre peak. While traversing Stadium Glacier on the mountain at about 11:30 a.m., Taylor slipped and fell approximately 300 metres down the glacier.
Despite help provided by fellow-mountaineers who were in the area, he died at the scene.
