Over 120 athletes took on the challenge of “Canada’s toughest off-road triathlon” on Sunday.

The inaugural PACE Multisport Dodge City X triathlon featured a swim through Comox Lake and a mountain bike and trail run on some of Cumberland’s world-class trails.

The race offered a standard distance course – a 1.5 km swim, 23 km mountain bike and 9.5 km trail run – or the half-distance sprint course – a 750 m swim, 12 km mountain bike and 5 km run. Athletes could also split up the standard race as part of a relay team.

Over 100 volunteers helped out at the event and all net proceeds will be donated to the United Riders of Cumberland and their work to maintain the Village’s trail network.
