It was one heck of a party at Big White to ring in the New Year this past week.
Thousands visited the ski resort during the holidays to take in a line-up of New Year’s Eve activities. Even the snow gods were celebrating, as Big White was dusted with 20 centimetres of fresh snow.
On Saturday, Dec. 31, Big White and TELUS partnered to host a viewing of the Canada vs. USA Men’s World Juniors hockey game, which was broadcast outdoors on the big screen in the centre of Big White Village.
In the evening, Happy Valley hosted a number of family-friendly events including an apres ski party and a dazzling fireworks display for the little ones. At midnight, the main countdown celebration happened in the Village with another fireworks show that lit up the sky.
And the festivities aren’t over yet, this weekend Jan. 6 and 7, the BCSB Slopestyle is taking place with a specially built course.
