Fire destroyed a farmhouse in south Chilliwack Tuesday afternoon.
The building, located on Keith Wilson Road near Lickman, was already in flames as firefighters began arriving at around 3:30 p.m.
Firefighters were called from multiple halls. But crews could do little but prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings.
Strong winds pushed the flames eastward, and firefighters had a challenge getting water to the blaze. Trucks were tapping fire hydrants as far away as Unsworth Road.
The fire snarled traffic around area, as roads were closed and busy drive-home traffic diverted.
There’s no word on injuries.
