An annual provincial conference draws firefighters from around B.C. to Port Alberni this week.

Fire training officials from across British Columbia have gathered in Port Alberni to learn some of the highest training standards to best serve their communities.

The 2016 Annual British Columbia Fire Training Officers Association Conference began on May 14 and will run until Thursday, May 19 in the Alberni Valley. The conference takes place each year in a different community in B.C. for fire officials to learn and practice fire-related exercises.
