VIDEO: Kitten roundup in Langley rescues strays and abandoned

Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) conducts fifth annual no-questions-asked initiative

“Roo” the kitten calmly curled up in her carrying case following her arrival at the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) Saturday.

The first cat to be collected during the LAPS Kitten Roundup was turned in by her owner, who had taken good care of Roo, but was unable to keep her any more.

That was about all that Lneya Ishmail, LAPS trainer and adoption counselor needed to know.

“We’re not asking too many questions,” Ishmail said.

It was the fifth year of the one-day event where the Langley shelter takes in kittens, (less than one-years-old) and pregnant cats.

The LAPS website promised “no fees or judgement…just compassion and kindness.”

Ishmail said people should know that LAPS will take cats from owners unable to care for them other times of the year as well.

“Any time,” she said.

Anyone with a kitten or mother cat may call LAPS at 604-857-5055.
