SUV crashes through concrete dividers on Aug. 5, 1 person airlifted out

An accident resulted in two people being hospitalized Wednesday night (Aug. 5) after the SUV they were in crashed through the concrete dividers on Highway 11 and Townshipline Road in Abbotsford.

The accident occurred before 9:40 p.m., and required one person to be airlifted to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.

The SUV was headed east on Townshipline Road, drove over the railway tracks and struck a cement barrier, leaving both occupants with injuries that were serious but not life-threatening, according to Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird.

The Abbotsford Police Department had the highway closed from Harris Road to Clayburn Road while they investigated the crash.
