Tomorrow morning, Big White Ski Resort will once again participate in the nationwide attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most snow angels being made at one time. At exactly 10 a.m., up to 100 ski hills and resorts across Canada will attempt to break the record of 15,851 snow angels.

This huge event is being held on Canadian Ski Patrol Day, in honour of the life-saving work that over 5,000 volunteers within the Canadian Ski Patrol provide to our slopes, from advanced first-aid to emergency rescues. It is also being held in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday.

This is the second year the Canadian Ski Patrol has attempted to break the snow angel record, with a strong turn-out in 2016. Last year, Big White Ski Resort was buzzing with excitement when it hosted over 300 snow-loving participants for this record-breaking attempt.

This year, Big White’s snow angel attempt will take place in Big White TELUS Park. All ages are encouraged to come out and participate in this free, family-friendly event! Participants must meet no later than 9:45am for the coordinated record-breaking attempt that will begin at 10:00am sharp.

With four centimetres of fresh snow in the last 12 hours up on the mountain and plenty more in the forecast, it’s looking like a wonderful weekend to try and break a world record.

Check out the snow report from Big White after the mountain was hit with some major powder.
