Air ambulance was called but victim taken by ground instead

An air ambulance was called for a person who fell from a roof in Maple Ridge Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 1 p.m. at 262 Street and 98 Avenue.

A helicopter landed at Thornhill Elementary to transport the victim to hospital but the victim was taken by ground instead.

BC Emergency Health Services said they received a call at 12:54pm for a report of a fall from a roof at a location in the 26000 block of 98 avenue in Maple Ridge.

Two ground crews and one air ambulance were dispatched.

Paramedics cared for one patient and transported them to hospital (by ground) in serious condition.
