A Surrey RCMP car collided with another vehicle at the corner of 132 Street and 64 Avenue just after 6 a.m.
The accident occurred near Panorama Ridge Secondary and students from the school were ducking under police tape to get to classes.
The cop cruiser collided with a vehicle while making a left turn, said Corporal Scotty Schumann.
The RCMP vehicle struck a pedestrian who had just been dropped off by the other vehicle, Schumann said. There were no serious injuries but both the RCMP officer and the pedestrian were taken to hospital.
The police cruiser is blocking off 132nd Street north of 64 Avenue, which remains open. Schumann said that traffic investigators are on scene and that police hope to have the intersection opened up again within the hour.
