Incident took place early Monday morning in grocery store parking lot

Two men passed out in a car in Abbotsford early Monday morning were found to be in a stolen vehicle and one had an outstanding warrant, police say.

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said police, fire and ambulance personnel were dispatched just after midnight to the parking lot of the No Frills grocery store in the area of Marshall and Riverside roads in east Abbotsford.

A report had come in that two people were slumped inside of a vehicle and were unconscious.

When crews arrived, the two men were conscious, but were suspected to be impaired by drugs. The vehicle they were in was determined to be stolen, Bird said.

She said that the man who had an outstanding warrant had “various packages of drugs” on him.

Bird said the two men were taken into custody, and the investigation is continuing.
