A Peace and Healing Vigil will be held on Sunday, June 11 at Millennium Park at 6 p.m. to help the community heal from recent tragedies.
“When people come together, good things happen,” said organizer Deb MacIntosh. “We are helping to resolve what has happened with Chrissy Archibald, Matthew Beaudet … the very sad news that Zach’s kidney didn’t take … that is just stuff we know about, there are personal tragedies going on all of the time.”
Archibald was killed in the London terror attacks, Beaudet was a man from Castlegar who recently succumbed to cancer, leaving behind a wife and two children and Zach Tremblay is a Castlegar teenager whose recent kidney transplant failed.
“The best way of healing a community is by bringing the community together,” added MacIntosh. “Community is what props up a lot of people — we just need to come together.”
The vigil is open to anyone who would like to attend, but those who would like to speak at the vigil are asked to contact MacIntosh at 250-608-1047 to be put on the schedule.
