The Village of Burns Lake will soon be without a recreation coordinator.
Logan Wilson, who currently holds the position, is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
“(I’m) going back to the forest industry for the short-term, and have a few business opportunities I hope to capitalize on over the next year or so,” he said last week.
Wilson, whose last day with the municipality will be April 11, acknowledged that his decision to leave local government wasn’t an easy one. He stressed, however, that he and his family will remain in the community.
“I loved the job,” he said. “It was a lot of fun, so (leaving) it was a tough choice to make. I am proud of all the achievements made during my time as the recreation coordinator. It will be weird not being as involved in community recreation discussions and projects, but I will be out skiing, biking, skateboard, and playing soccer.”
Village Chief Administrative Officer Sheryl Worthing said the municipality hasn’t yet determined how or when it will replace Wilson.
