Village of Nakusp releases annual salaries of employees and elected officials

At least six employees in the village made over $75,000 in 2019

Nakusp public works foreman Bob Gresiuk topped the list of highest-paid Village of Nakusp employees in 2019.

Finance director Mark Tennant released the annual statement of financial information, which outlines the salaries of the employees earning more than $75,000 as well as elected officials.

The report said Gresiuk made $99,408 in 2019, chief administrative officer Cheryl Martens at $82,529 and Tennant himself at $82,295.

Former chief administrative officer Laurie Taylor made $81,381, including the payout of accrued vacation; Nakusp Hot Springs supervisor Noel Ballard $76,490; and utility operator Terry Flamond at $75,996.

Mayor Tom Zeleznik made $13,507 plus $6,892 in expenses. Among the councillors, Susan DeSandoli made $9,275, Aidan McLaren-Caux made $8,940, Joseph Hughes made $7,291, Ken Miller made $5,470 and Janis Neufeld, who resigned mid-term, made $4,155. The councillor figures include expenses. The base salary is $6,754.

In total, the village paid out $1,946,821 in 2019 for salaries to elected officials and employees.
