Violent break and enter in Glenmore

"The resident was home at the time of the occurrence and an altercation ensued involving a number of suspects," say police.

One person was shot and five have been arrested following a violent Wednesday morning break and enter.

On Feb. 17 at 9:45 am, the Kelowna RCMP were called to the scene of a break and enter to a residence in the 1400 block of Glenmore Road north.

“The resident was home at the time of the occurrence and an altercation ensued involving a number of suspects,” said Const. Jesse O’Donaghey.

“The investigation has led to the arrest of five people for a variety of offences. One of those arrested has been taken to hospital for the treatment of injuries believed to be sustained during the break-in. His injuries are being described as serious in nature, but are believed to be non-life threatening.”

This appears to be an isolated incident, and the Kelowna RCMP do not believe that the public is in any risk. The resident was unharmed during the altercation.
