Kelowna will host an estimated 1,400 professionals in the water industry next week with the opening Sunday of the annual conference of the B.C. Water and Waste Association.
A highlight of the conference will be an address by Bob Sandford on the social and economic consequences of hydrologic change. Sandford is internationally-connected in the water world and is chair of the Canadian Partnership Initiative in support of UN Water for Life Decade, as well as holding a variety of directorships in water-related organizations.
Delegates will talk about the ways of providing safe and good quality drinking water and manage wastewater, using some of the latest technology.
It’s the largest water industry conference in Western Canada, according to Daisy Foster, CEO of the 4,700-member professional organization.
