Water level of Williams Lake causes some to sandbag

The water level of Williams Lake has risen enough that some lakeside residents are sandbagging to protect their properties.

The water level of Williams Lake has risen enough that some lakeside residents are sandbagging to protect their properties.

While city staff said they haven’t measured the lake, they are keeping an eye on the level.

Today, Friday, sand has been provided on Wood Road for lakeside residents by the city it they require it for sandbagging, which the city said it has done in the past.

The lake isn’t the highest it has ever been, however, one resident said it’s the highest she has seen it in the 23 years she has lived near the lake.
