Shovels will soon break ground for the construction of the district’s new water treatment plant.
The official ground-breaking for the Mara Lake water treatment plant is scheduled to take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31.
The event will occur at the site of the future treatment facility off Highway 97A and Dabell Street. All are welcomed to attend.
Sicamous council recently gave final reading to a temporary borrowing bylaw that authorizes the district to borrow up to $4.399 million towards the construction of the $7.9 million treatment plant. Earlier this month, council declared Maple Reinders Inc. of Kelowna as the general contractor for the project.
