Vernon Search and Rescue crews were called into action after a motor vehicle accident Saturday.
At 4:15 p.m., unit members responded to an incident where a vehicle with four occupants went off Bluenose Road, near Lavington.
“Three of the occupants were injured, one seriously,” said Leigh Pearson, search manager.
“Members responded and brought the injured up to awaiting ambulances. The task was completed by 6:20 p.m.”
Also on Saturday, the RCMP received a report of a swimmer in trouble in Okanagan Lake, off of Fintry.
The man had gone into the water to rescue his dog. Eight SAR members responded at 10:15 a.m. and were stood down at 10:45 a.m. because the swimmer had been picked up by a person in a kayak and brought to shore.
On Sunday, Search and Rescue was called out at 7:20 p.m. because of a boat apparently in trouble on Okanagan Lake, near Parker’s Cove.
“The caller stated that the boat seemed to be adrift and that the occupants were sounding their distress airhorn,” said Pearson.
“The 15 responding SAR members were stood down at 8:30 p.m. when it was determined that the occupants of the boat managed to get it started and had left the area.”
