Aggressive driving may have been what cut short the life of a West Kelowna mother of two, say police.
Emergency crews were called Saturday night to the scene of a two vehicle collision on Highway 97 and Ross.
“A southbound Pontiac Bonneville was making a left turn onto Ross Road when it struck on the passenger’s side by a northbound Lexus SC40,” said Const. Kris Clark.
“A 46 year old West Kelowna woman in the passengers’s seat of the Pontiac was likely killed instantly.”
A West Kelowna man, 44, driving the Pontiac was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. As was a Quesnel man, 22, who was driving the Lexus.
Both remain in the Intensive Care Unit at the Hospital.
“Speed and aggressive driving appear to be factors in the collision,” said Clark. ‘Witnesses say the Lexus was driving at a hight rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic.”
There are also lingering questions about the whether the light was yellow or red, when the Pontiac turned into the intersection.
“The investigation continues and it’s unknown if any charges will be recommended.
