Police got a report at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 31 of a broken window at Houston Secondary School. RCMP Sergeant Stephen Rose said the window was broken by a projectile and it’s believed to have happened outside of school hours. Anyone with information is asked to contact Houston RCMP at 250-845-2204 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

At 1:10 p.m. Jan. 31, police got a report of another broken window at the Houston Chamber of Commerce. Sgt. Rose says a projectile was fired through the glass grizzly bear display, causing $5,000 worth of damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact Houston RCMP at 250-845-2204 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Sgt. Rose says the two files are believed to be related as the size of the projectile is similar in both cases.

Police arrested an unlicenced driver on Highway 16 near Butler Ave. at 10 a.m. Feb. 2. Sgt. Rose says the driver will face charges for driving while disqualified and driving while prohibited. The driver was also issued a ticket for driving without insurance.

Police got a report at 5 a.m. Feb. 3 of an injured moose in the middle of Highway 16 just west of Houston.  Sgt. Rose says police found the moose dead and contacted LDM who moved the moose.

Police got a report of a shoplifter at a local store at 3:15 p.m. Feb. 3. Sgt. Rose says the property representative did not pursue charges as the value of the stolen goods was minimal and was recovered.

Police got a report of a disturbance at a home on Sullivan Way at 2 a.m. Feb. 4. Sgt. Rose says police found that a couple had been arguing but no assault occurred. Police directed the male to stay elsewhere to avoid further conflict.

A vehicle hit another vehicle on Pearson Road at Sullivan Way at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4. Sgt. Rose says a westbound vehicle hit a vehicle stopped at a stop sign but no one was seriously injured. Police issued a ticket to the driver, believe to have been blinded by the sun.

Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a female who breached court conditions on Feb. 1 for not residing as directed, Sgt. Rose said.

Police arrested a driver in the mall parking lot at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Sgt. Rose says the driver was wanted on warrant in Fort St. John.

Police got a report of a male with a firearm outside of a home on Hagman Cres. at 8:50 p.m. Feb. 5. Sgt. Rose says police found the man who said he was transporting the rifle to a safe location with intentions of going hunting the next day. The male had the appropriate licences for the firearm and no charges are expected.

Police got a report of a disturbance at a home on Kanata Ave. at 11:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Sgt. Rose says police told the resident to keep the noise down, including the volume of the T.V. which was bothering his neighbours.

In the past seven days, police have also responded to five false alarms, four other traffic complaints, and one abandoned 9-1-1 call.
