Before dawn broke on Thursday, West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded to a report of a vehicle fire in in the 2800 block of Glenrosa Road.
“When the first crew arrived, they found a fully involved vehicle parked on a small side road. The vehicle fire had extended into the wildland,” said West Kelowna assistant fire chief, Darren Lee, of the call that came in at approximately 2:26 a.m., Thursday, July 21.
“The initial arriving crew successfully knocked the fire down and was able to ensure that the fire did not spread further into the wildland.”
“The preliminary fire cause and origin investigation is complete and a fire crews have thoroughly overhauled the fire area and are monitoring for hot spots. The cause of the fire has unknown but is considered to be suspicious. The incident has been turned over to West Kelowna RCMP for investigation.”

A total of three engines, one water tender and one command vehicle attended the incident. WKFR responded with a total of 14 personnel. West Kelowna RCMP also attended the scene.
