Investigators look into the scene of a fire early this morning on Luxton Road.

West Shore RCMP investigate suspicious fire in Langford

Langford Fire Rescue called early this morning to vacant Langford residence

West Shore RCMP is investigating a fire that started early this morning on Luxton Road.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. today (June 18) West Shore RCMP and Langford Fire and Rescue were called to a structure fire in the 3400 block of Luxton Rd.

Police say there was no one in the residence at the time of the fire as the residence has been vacant for more than two years. Neighbours reported the fire. West Shore RCMP Police Dog Services also attended.

“Investigators are hoping to hear from anyone with information on how this fire may have started,” said media spokesperson Cp. Kathy Rochlitz.

West Shore RCMP Major Crime Unit, Vancouver Island Forensic Identification Service and arson investigators are on site today to further examine the scene.

Those with information are asked to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 and ask for the Major Crime Unit or to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS.
