West Shore RCMP make pair of pot busts

Two men targeted in separare marijuana arrests on the West Shore yesterday

West Shore RCMP Street Crime Unit scored twice yesterday (April 24).

Officers started the day targeting a man they say acts as a middle man for a pot dealer in the Capital Region. Police arrested a 32 year-old man  in the parking lot next to the West Shore detachment and seized a half-pound of marijuana.

At 4:30 p.m. officers targeted a 32 year-old Sooke man they believe supplied marihuana to youth in the West Shore area. RCMP said the man holds a medical marijuana production and possession license. At the time of the arrest the suspect had a pound of pot in his possession. Police plan to recommend charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
