BC Wildfire along with the Okanagan Falls volunteer fire department are actioning a one hectare wildfire that has broke out west of the community.
Nicole Bonnett, fire information officer with BC Wildfire Service, said an air tanker, helicopters and ground crews are attacking the fire.
“The fire is within Okanagan Falls fire department jurisdiction so they responded to the fire first and then we received a call that they needed our assistance,” she said.
She said the fire is suspected to be human caused and the fire origin and cause team are on their way to investigate.
Bonnett said the fire was called in around 4 p.m.
