Williams Lake RCMP, fire dept. investigating ‘suspicious’ fire involving impounded vehicles

The Williams Lake Fire Dept. and RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire in Williams Lake Friday, Sept. 18, at 4:30 a.m. involving a few vehicles and an outbuilding at Downtown Towing on Mackenzie Avenue South.

“Investigation revealed a suspect gained access to the tow yard, and lit a truck on fire,” Cpl. Fraser Bjornson said in a press release. “Several other vehicles, and a structure, were damaged. Fortunately no one was injured, and emergency crews were able to get the fire under control.”

Police said the suspect is described as approximately 5’10” in height with a slim build.
