Environment Canada issued a weather warning for the Fraser Valley on Thursday, advising residents that temperatures may drop below minus 20 with the wind chill.

An Arctic outflow could drop Fraser Valley temperatures to minus 20 by tonight (Thursday), prompting a warning from Environment Canada.

The cold northeasterly outflow winds will pick up today as a ridge of Arctic high pressure will build over the Interior.

Environment Canada predicts Mission and Abbotsford temperatures to fall starting tonight.

Arctic outflow warnings are issued when wind chill values are expected to drop to minus 20 or lower for six or more hours.
