Woman arrested, charged with robbery in Kitimat

Incident took place at convenience store attached to gas station

A woman has now been charged with the robbery that took place at the Circle K convenience store attached to a gas station in Kitimat at 3:30 a.m. May 18.

Following a report that a woman dressed in all black had entered the store, produced a knife and then left on foot after demanding cash and cigarettes, Kitimat RCMP searched the area.

Officers located a woman, who was accompanied by a man, shortly afterward and both were arrested.

The woman who was charged with robbery has been remanded in custody, pending a court appearance today. The male was remanded in custody on outstanding and unrelated warrants.

Police say they continue to investigate two previous robberies one at Tony’s Corner Store and the other at Wee Geordies Liquor Store on May 12 to determine if there is a connection.

In those incidents, cashiers were also held at knifepoint when the perpetrators demanded money.
