A woman was arrested and has now been charged after numerous vehicles, including police ones, and building murals were spray-painted and a cab driver was assaulted and his vehicle stolen.

Kim Archambault, 27 years old from Gitsegukla, B.C., has been charged with robbery, and was remanded to appear in court on June 10.

Over the course of June 3-5 Terrace RCMP received numerous complaints regarding a woman using spray paint in various locations across town.

The calls progressed from graffiti on walls, to spray painting vehicles, to spray painting police vehicles, and then to using it as a weapon to spray a cab driver in the face to steal his vehicle, police said in a release.

“The community really came together to assist us with this investigation which led to a quick arrest,” said Sgt. Mike Robinson of the Terrace RCMP detachment.

The combined efforts of general duty officers along with the general investigation section and the forensic identification section allowed for a suspect being quickly identified through physical evidence, witness statements, and surveillance from local businesses, police continued.

Archambault was arrested June 8.

In all seven police vehicles, four civilian vehicles, numerous city properties, and several businesses were vandalized. The taxi was recovered with extensive damage. The cab driver did not have any long lasting injury.

The Terrace RCMP are asking witnesses to come forward with any information about these incidents and also to report if there more related unreported incidents.
