A woman is injured after two vehicles collided at the corner of Keith Ave. and Kenney St. this afternoon in Terrace

The crash involved a Ministry of Transportation vehicle in which two male passengers were uninjured, and a tan coloured Toyota car from which a woman was extracted by emergency crews using the jaws of life and other extraction devices, said Const. Angela Rabut of Terrace’s RCMP.

The crash happened at roughly 1:30 this afternoon, she said, and the exact cause is still under investigation.

It is known that the truck was traveling northbound on Kenney St. and the car eastbound on Keith Ave.

She is stable,” said Rabut, adding that the woman was transported by ambulance to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Cpl. John Hughes of Terrace’s RCMP who was on the scene said the woman was alert and conscious at roughly 1:45 p.m.

The extent of her injuries are still unknown, said Rabut.

After the collision, both vehicles were in the eastbound lane with the car pinned up on its side against a hydro pole on the northeast corner, the truck nearly parallel behind it.

Terrace Fire and Rescue extracted the woman from the vehicle with the help of paramedics.
