A young woman pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing bodily harm and causing an accident resulting in bodily harm for a July 2018 incident in Keremeos.
Brendalynn Hubik appeared in Penticton Supreme Court on Monday, Feb. 22, to plead guilty to the two charges.
The court learned that on July 2, 2018, Hubik, with a vehicle full of people was stopped by police in a pull out in Keremeos.
Police attempted to arrest one of the men in the vehicle who was wanted on an outstanding charge. While that suspect fought police, Hubik and her two girlfriends got back into her vehicle and drove away.
But Crown submitted that Hubik didn’t get too far, driving off the road and flipping the vehicle into a ditch. The two women in the vehicle with her were injured during the crash.
According to Crown, she was arrested and taken to the Keremeos detachment where she gave two breath samples. Police submit that she blew more than twice the legal limit.
Hubic will learn her fate May 3 in Penticton Supreme Court.
