A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night near one of the worst intersections in Chilliwack for collisions.
Police say a 55-year-old woman of no fixed address was hit on Vedder Road north of Luckakuck Way at about 6 p.m.
“It was a very tragic incident,” said Staff Sgt. Dave Eidet.
Emergency responders performed CPR before the victim was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to injuries.
Police say the driver was located, but there was no indication of alcohol or drugs as contributing factors.
The name of the victim has not been released.
No charges have been laid, and the investigation is still underway.
Traffic was detoured around the site near the Vedder overpass for several hours.
