Here are some of the events local RCMP responded to last weekend.

In total Terrace RCMP responded to 106 calls from April 13, 8 a.m. till April 16, 8 a.m. Seven of these

calls were for false 911/alarms.

During the same time period a total of 20 people were lodged in cells. 18 of these were for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

-Police did a well being check of a 19 yr old man who posted suicidal thoughts on Facebook.

-A 32 yr old woman passed out on the floor of the Coast Inn Cold Beer and Wine Store. She told BC

Ambulance that she was drugged. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment. Tests

showed alcohol as the lone drug in her system.

Elsewhere Terrace

-79 year old man deceased at a residence on Tuck Ave.

-Police assisted Mills Memorial Hospital with the apprehension of a 46 yr old woman under the Mental Health Act. Later on in the day, police had to attend to the same location to apprehend her again. The woman splashed boiling water from a tea kettle into an RCMP member’s face. The woman then attempted to splash the hot contents of her cup at the member, but was unsuccessful. The member suffered minor burns to the right side of his face, eye, and chest.

-Intoxicated man kicking at a door and swearing at the person inside at a residence on Kalum St. Police

attended the location and found the 34 yr old man hiding in between two mattresses. He was arrested for

breach of probation by consuming alcohol.

-Assault on Pear St. A person was cut with a broken glass and had to be escorted to Mills Memorial Hospital

for treatment. Under investigation.

-Police arrested an intoxicated 42 yr old man for breaching his probation condition of no contact. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

-Curfew check of an 18 yr old man on Kalum St. He was not home. Charges are being forwarded to Crown

Counsel.

-A suicidal 20 yr old woman was escorted to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

-A large dual pane window on the main door of Shoppers Home Health Care was broken with a brick on the

night of April 14.

-Noisy party and a fight on Scott Ave. A 21 yr old man was arrested for public intoxication. The party was

shut down. Everyone denied a fight happening.

-Man missing from Mills Memorial Hospital. He was located shortly after. Police attended to Mills Memorial to

assist staff with him.

-Police received a report of a man with a gun and a woman could be heard screaming inside of a residence.

Investigation determined that it was a verbal domestic dispute and guns were not involved in any way.

-A 16 yr old girl and 17 yr old girl were arrested for public intoxication in the woods near the Skateboard park.

One of the girls had fallen into the creek that runs through the area. Both were transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment due to their level of intoxication.

-Police arrested an intoxicated 19 yr old man passed out in a puddle on Kalum St. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

-Noisy party on Gair Ave. was shut down by police.

-A 37-year-old man reported that eight men and four children under the age of eight years entered his residence and were taking things. One of the men threatened to stab him in the chest. Investigation determined that none of these events had transpired. The amount of drug paraphernalia in the residence suggested a drug induced state of mind. The man was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.

-13 yr old girl reported missing. Under investigation.

-Noisy music on Davis St shut down.

-A grave was disturbed in the Terrace Cemetery. Under investigation.

Thornhill

-An intoxicated 31 yr old man laying in the middle of the road on Walker St. He was arrested for pubic

intoxication and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment due to drug and alcohol consumption

together.

-Noisy party on Hawthorne Ave. shut down.

-Citizens detained an impaired driver in a red Blazer on Maple St. Police attended and arrested a 19 yr old

man for impaired driving. He provided samples of breath over double the legal limit. An amount of marijuana was also taken from the vehicle. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

-Noisy party on Old Lakelse Lake Dr. was shut down.

Gitaus

-A child was almost hit by a man driving a quad. People involved were spoken with.

-A 32 yr old intoxicated woman wearing inadequate clothing and no shoes was arrested for public intoxication.

Rural, Kitsumkalum, Kulspai
