THESE WORMS never had it so good.

They belong to the Ksan Society and are busy at the society’s southside greenhouse turning organic scraps into compost.

Better yet, the organic material is being delivered to the worms courtesy of a small trailer attached to a bicycle pedalled by a volunteer.

The waste is picked up from restaurants by the volunteer.

The bike trailer was built by Norm Larson and the bike provided by Brad Harrison, both volunteers.

As the worm bike makes its way around town, other cyclists are out this week helping mark Bike to Work Week.

At last count, 30 teams have registered to take part by having participants using two wheels to get to work this week.

The week culminates tomorrow at the west end of of the Skeena Mall parking lot with a barbecue for participants.

All those participating in Bike to Work Week are invited to come down for the BBQ, prizes and more. The BBQ will take place between 4‐7pm.

Terrace is one of many communities ramping up for Bike to Work Week. Residents from across BC, from Prince George to Campbell River are seeing a high level of interest this year.

The Skeena Mall parking lot is also the location of a community bike rodeo taking place from 4-7 pm.

Organized by the Terrace RCMP, the bike rodeo is a hands-on, interactive day, designed to teach children fundamental biking skills, road safety, and rules of the road.

Bike rodeos take place across the province of BC and are conducted in a safe and positive environment. This is a free event open to all youth of all ages.

All participants will receive a prize bag and a hotdog and drink. The fire department will be stamping all bikes with a security number.

There are door prizes and other prizes as well.
