Heavy congestion in Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey and past the Port Mann. Rainfall warning in effect

Good morning! It was a rainy clear start to the day at 4 C as of 7 a.m., and the Environment Canada weather service tells us we’ve got 98 per cent humidity and 9 km/h winds from the north-northeast.

Today, we’ve got a rainfall warning from Environment Canada, with rain expected to be at times heavy today, with around 15-30 mm of rain forecast to fall during the day. Overnight, we’re looking at a low of 7 C, with periods of rain amounting to 10-15 mm.

After that, we’re looking at a rainy week, with precipitation in the forecast at least until next Wednesday, with highs ranging from 7 C to 10 C and lows ranging from 5 to 8 C.

Currently, visibility is eight kilometres.

On clear roads and driving at the speed limit, a drive from the Abbotsford News building to Downtown Vancouver would take 50 minutes.

Today, your daily commute time as of 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018 is one hour 35 minutes, with plenty of areas of congestion along Highway 1 in Abbotsford, Langley, Surrey and through from the Port Mann Bridge to 1st Ave. in Vancouver.

In Langley, Drive BC is reporting a pothole, while in Surrey water is pooling at 160th Street. Crews are on scene at both locations, blocking the right lane of Highway 1.
